Zhou Xiaochuan Appealing to G20 and Government & Central Bank of Every Country to Further Promote Green Finance

On Oct. 12th, during the annual meeting of monetary funds and global banks, Zhou Xiaochuan, the governor of People's Bank of China, attended and delivered a speech at the “Green Financial System: Future Path Exploration”- themed round-table conference, which was hosted jointly by Paulson Institute, United Nations Environment Program, Institute of International Finance, and Financial Markets Association.
In his speech, Zhou XiaoXiaochuan indicated that, China, during its presidency of G20, will vigorously foster green finance, and that the Chinese government will also regard green finance as a key point in the national strategy of green development. He appealed that, based on the progress made, G20 as well as the government and central bank of every country shall further promote green finance, moving forward to tackle with the challenges faced in green financial development.
Paulson, the former Treasury Secretary of the US, as well as the representatives from many international organizations, financial institutions and academic agencies, attended this round-table conference.
